SAN DIEGO, August 23, 2006 - Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM), a global leader in data storage and protection, today announced availability of the new Iomega Desktop Hard Drive eSATA/USB 2.0 320 GB*. Designed to close the gap between built-in hard drives and the fastest external hard drives available today, Iomega's new eSATA interface features triple the transfer rate of USB 2.0 for ideal performance with any application, from video editing to lightning-fast backups.

Iomega's eSATA drive gets its speed advantage by exploiting the same type of high-speed interface as an internal hard drive. It ships with an included eSATA PCI card and cable that can upgrade most PC motherboards to eSATA capability, giving existing computers the same high-speed interface that is now beginning to appear in new high-end personal computers.

Users of Iomega's new eSATA drive can easily add multiple Iomega eSATA drives, each of which exceeds the performance of a FireWire 800 drive. They can stack drives or mount them vertically with the built-in drive stand. And since the enclosure is 30 percent smaller than that of other external hard drives, users can also keep more available desk space.

"When we talk to power users, they are passionate about their need for speed, efficiency and elegance in their computer systems. That's why we're pleased to be able to bring them a design that offers such an effortless increment in storage speed," said Ashley Domis, global product manager for HDD solutions, Iomega Corporation. "In addition, each drive comes with Retrospect Express to back up important files in the background, automatically, so your backup is always ready even if you aren't."

EMC Retrospect Express software delivers automated, reliable, cost-effective protection for Windows and Mac users. Its award-winning design makes it easy to set up and manage highly efficient backups on any PC, greatly simplifying disaster recovery. Users can back up open files, verify backup integrity during the backup, have scheduled backups proceed even without logging in, and recover individual files or a complete system to any point in time.

Included With Each Drive
The Iomega Desktop Hard Drive eSATA/USB 2.0 320 GB* comes with an eSATA PCI card and cable, a USB 2.0 cable, a power cable, and a Quick Start guide and Solutions CD. Retrospect Express software is included with each drive.

Price and Availability
The Iomega Desktop Hard Drive eSATA/USB 2.0 320 GB is available now for $239.95 (price is U.S. suggested retail).
