ASUS annuncia ufficialmente il nuovo EeeKeyboard PC

Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, ASUS ha annunciato il sistema EeeKeyboard PC (cfr. la foto che segue), un PC dotato di tutte le funzionalità tipiche dei prodotti della sua categoria e assemblato in un cabinet coincidente, dal punto di vista estetico, con una tastiera.

EeeKeyboard PC, di cui ASUS sottolinea il peso pari a circa 1Kg, può essere collegato a qualsiasi monitor, proiettore o HDTV divenendo così un PC in tutto e per tutto. Inoltre, il supporto della connettività senza fili Ultra-wideband (UWB) Wireless Display permette di effettuare lo streaming di video in HD a 720p con una distanza dalla device di visualizzazione che può raggiungere i 5m.

EeeKeyboard PC include, tra l'altro, un processore Intel Atom N270, abbinato a una motherboard con chipset 945GSE e ICH7-M, 1GB di RAM DDR2, un SSD da 16GB oppure 32GB e un display multi-touch da 5" con risoluzione pari a 800x480. Il sistema operativo pre-configurato è Windows XP.

Ultra-wideband (UWB) Wireless Display Connectivity
The EeeKeyboard PC features Ultra-wideband (UWB) Wireless Display connectivity and is able to stream HD 720p visuals to a designated display device within a 5 meter range. UWB Wireless Display connectivity also brings with it higher data transfer rates, and ensures a reliable link during data transfers.

5" Multi-touch Panel for an Intuitive and Interactive User Experience
The EeeKeyboard PC has another ingenious feature—an interactive 5" multi-touch panel designed to enhance the user experience by adapting its functions to suit the task at hand. At its most basic level, it serves as a touchpad for controlling the main display cursor. It can be set to display quick launch keys and shortcuts to enable users to easily access programs and web content. It can also display the media player's interface, allowing users to browse, select, and play songs with a tap of a finger.

ASUS has taken user feedback into account and ensured that the EeeKeyboard PC's LED-backlit keys are precisely calibrated to ensure consistency in mechanical responsiveness, latency, and actuation pressure.
