OCZ annuncia la linea di SSD da 2.5-inch Vertex Limited Edition

Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, OCZ Technology ha lanciato la nuova linea di SSD (Solid State Drive) da 2.5-inch siglata Vertex Limited Edition (LE). Come si intuisce dalla denominazione commerciale, si tratta di prodotti (cfr. le foto seguenti) progettati per fornire le massime prestazioni possibili in abbinamento alla tecnologia NAND Flash a multi-level cell (MLC).

Le unità della nuova gamma sono caratterizzate da un'interfaccia di tipo SATA 3Gb/s e supportano in maniera nativa il comando Trim di Windows 7 (i drive sono compatibili anche con Windows XP, Vista e le principali distribuzioni Linux). Il costruttore dichiara una velocità massima in fase di lettura pari a 270MB/s ed una velocità massima in scrittura pari a 250MB/s.

Al momento sono presenti nel catalogo di OCZ due varianti della linea Vertex Limited Edition (LE), le quali differiscono per la capacità di memorizzione, pari a 100GB in un caso e 200GB nell'altro. Entrambe saranno commercializzate "entro le prossime settimane", accompagnate da un valore del MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) pari a 1.5 milioni di ore.
