Con il comunicato per la stampa di seguito allegato, Gigabyte ha presentato la nuova motherboard GA-MA790FXT-UD5P, la sua prima soluzione che implementa la piattaforma AMD Dragon ed, in quanto tale, è dotata di supporto per la nuova generazione di processori Phenom II per socket AM3, prodotti in tecnologia a 45nm.

La GA-MA790FXT-UD5P appartiene alla linea di schede madri Ultra Durable 3 di Gigabyte ed in quanto tale è equipaggiata esclusivamente con condensatori a stato solido "made in Japan" (che accrescono la vita fisica della mobo), induttori ad alta efficienza e MOSFET a bassa resistenza (per la minimizzazione del consumo di potenza).

La GA-MA790FXT-UD5P è costruita intorno al chipset AMD 790FX (North Bridge) e permette l'impiego di tali cpu in abbinamento a memoria centrale di tipo DDR3 a 1666MHz e oltre (in overclock), il cui controller è integrato negli stessi Phenom II, che supportano, tra l'altro, la tecnologia HyperTransport 3.0.

I due slot PCI-E 2.0 x16 ne assicurano la piena compatibilità con la tecnologia multi-gpu ATI CrossFireX, che ottimizza la resa dei game e consente di gestire simultaneamente quattro monitor. La dotazione di porte di I/O, gestite dal South Bridge SB750, rende disponibili 6 porte SATA 2.0 (3Gb/s) con RAID 0, 1, 5 e 10, e due porte Gigabit Ethernet tra le altre.
