Per tutti coloro che puntano al meglio della fascia mainstream nell'ambito delle schede grafiche per consumer e gaming-oriented, la taiwanense Leadtek Research ha annunciato la WinFast PX9600 GSO Extreme.

Si tratta di una soluzione basata sulla ben nota gpu a 65nm GeForce 9600 GSO, prodotta dalla statunitense NVIDIA, alla quale il card-maker ha abbinato un PCB caratterizzato dai suoi tipici standard qualitativi e il sistema proprietario per il raffreddamento S-FANPIPE.

Questo cooler di Leadtek veicola in maniera molto efficiente il calore prodotto dalla gpu verso la ventola, facendo uso di una heat-pipe in rame a forma di "S". Ne consegue l'operatività dei componenti principali della card a frequenze più elevate rispetto ai valori reference indicati dal design reference di NVIDIA: il core della gpu e i 384Mb di RAM G-DDR3 lavorano infatti rispettivamente a 600MHz e 1800MHz, contro i valori tipici che per la 9600 GSO coincidono con 550MHz e 1600MHZ.
