Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, Eurocom ha annunciato i primi notebook al mondo equipaggiati con le cpu a sei core Core i7-980X Extreme Edition e con le Xeon W5680 di Intel. Più in dettaglio, Eurocom ha aggiornato le soluzioni EUROCOM D900F Panther Mobile Workstation e D900F Panther Mobile Server con il supporto dei nuovi chip Intel Core i7-980X e Intel XEON W5680, entrambi operanti alla frequenza di 3.33GHz per core.

In accordo alla presentazione del maker, i nuovi portatili sono in realtà del tutto equivalenti ai desktop orientati al segmento enterprise o al gaming estremo, in funzione della configurazione scelta dall'utente; in quanto tali sono consigliati per lo sviluppo del software e dei database, l'elaborazione grafica, AD, CAM, CAE. Inoltre possono eseguire e/o virtualizzare praticamente qualsiasi OS, da Microsoft Windows 7, XP Pro64, Server 2003, Server 2008 a RedHat, Linux, Open Solaris e altri.

I nuovi notebook di Eurocom possono ospitare fino a 24GB di memoria RAM DDR3 a 1333MHz e fino a quattro unità per la memorizzazione di massa, sia di tipo SSD che di tipo HDD (in tal caso la capacità di storage complessiva può arrivare a 2.6TB), gestibili in modalità RAID 0/1/5/10; inoltre sono equipaggiati con un display LCD WUXGA da 17-inch e con connettori HDMI, eSATA, DVI Dual Link e due porte Gigabit Ethernet (la seconda può essere aggiunta mediante una Express Card).

Le sottosezioni video possono essere implementate mediante le seguenti gpu: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285M, Quadro FX 2800M, Quadro FX 3800M e ATI Mobility Radeon HD5870. I primi tre chip grafici sono abbinati a 1GB di RAM di tipo G-DDR3 mentre per il quarto è prevista la dotazione di 1GB di G-DDR5.
