Microsoft lancia ufficialmente il Sistema Operativo Windows 7

Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, Microsoft ha annunciato la disponibilità nel mercato internazionale del nuovo Sistema Operativo Windows 7. Il gigante di Redmond ha accompagnato l'annuncio ufficiale dell'ambiente con uno slogan ("Your PC, Simplified") che indica nella semplificazione dell'utilizzo del PC la feature più immediata e coinvolgente del suo prodotto.

Un aspetto che separa nettamente dalle passate esperienze coincide con la disponibilità, fin dalla data di rilascio del Sistema Operativo, di un notevole numero di PC equipaggiati con Windows 7 e di applicazioni dotate di pieno supporto dell'OS. Pur essendo indirizzato a qualsiasi tipologia di personal computer, inclusi i desktop all-in-one, quelli high-end e le gaming machine raffreddate a liquido, Windows 7 si presenta come un ambiente accessibile a tutti, dal momento che è stato commercializzato anche in abbinamento agli economici portatili di tipo netbook, il cui costo spesso non supera i $300.

Come è facile intuire, è davvero molto nutrito il numero di nuove feature che accompagnano l'arrivo del nuovo Sistema Operativo. Microsoft, nel suo comunicato, le elenca sostanzialmente tutte: Windows 7, oltre a essere realmente il primo ambiente in grado di utilizzare al meglio la tecnologia dei display touch-screen (Windows Touch), può vantare l'incremento della protezione del PC da attacchi malevoli, il miglioramento delle performance (ad esempio in fase di start-up o di ritorno dalla modalità di stand-by), la Taskbar completamente reingegnerizzata.

E inoltre l'integrazione di Internet Explorer 8 e la compatibilità nativa con un gran numero di device mobile, come telefoni e fotocamere, che rende immediatamente fruibili gli strumenti utili a gestirne e sincronizzarne i contenuti. E per i gamer, Windows 7 porta in dote le DirectX 11.

NEW YORK - Oct. 22, 2009 - Today Microsoft Corp. announced the worldwide availability of its new Windows 7 operating system. In a speech in New York, Ballmer thanked the millions of volunteers who helped improve the product by testing early versions.

"A project with the global customer reach of Windows can only be done as a team," said Steven Sinofsky, president of the Windows and Windows Live Division at Microsoft, speaking at a launch event in Tokyo. "We are grateful for the valuable contributions from customers, partners and developers around the world that helped make Windows 7 such a collaborative project."

The global availability of Windows 7 is joined by an unprecedented array of new PCs and software programs. With more PC options available for customers today at a wide range of price points starting under $300, customers can choose the PC that fits their personality, style and needs, from netbooks, ultrathin notebooks and highly interactive multitouch laptops to all-in-one desktops and high-end, water-cooled gaming machines.

A newly launched section of Windows.com called PC Scout will guide users through selecting and purchasing the right PC. Customers can purchase PCs with Windows 7 or software upgrades online or in-store from technology retailers or at the new Microsoft Store, launching today in its first retail location in Scottsdale, Ariz., and expanded online.
