Full Title: AMD, Mark Knopfler And Crowfly Are Brothers In Arms On Live Music Offering

-Mark Knopfler’s Shangri-La Tour concerts recorded live on AMD64 technology, available for download on new live music service from Crowfly-

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE -- July 13, 2005 --AMD (NYSE: AMD) announced today that live musical performances from Mark Knopfler and his band on their current Shangri-La world tour recorded on AMD64 technology will be available to purchase and download from Mark Knopfler’s Web site at www.mark-knopfler.com. These performances are the first live concerts to be offered via Crowfly Live, a new online service from Crowfly Digital Entertainment, a Nashville-based company focused on providing premium live music recordings directly to music fans.

Twelve shows previously recorded on Knopfler’s current tour will be available for download immediately. Mark Knopfler and band are performing live at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville tonight, and this show and subsequent performances will be recorded on AMD64 technology running Yamaha/Steinberg’s Nuendo audio software on the Windows XP Pro operating system and are expected to be available for download within days. Chuck Ainlay, AMD64 Masters Group member, audio industry veteran and co-producer of Mark’s records is supervising the mixing and mastering of the live recordings also using AMD64 technology.

AMD’s relationship with Mark Knopfler, world-class musician and former Dire Straits frontman, began with the recording of Knopfler’s latest record Shangri-La co-produced by Chuck Ainlay. Shangri-La was recorded and mixed on dual AMD Opteron™ processor-based digital audio workstations (DAWs), meeting Knopfler’s well-known high standard for pristine audio quality. Knopfler also uses AMD64-based DAWs in his new British Grove studio in London and is touring the world with an AMD64-based DAW to capture the magic of his live shows. Dire Straits’ classic "Brothers In Arms" was recently re-mixed for 5.1 surround sound by Ainlay on an AMD64-based DAW.

"I have never objected to fans recording performances for themselves. However, with this new technology we are in a position to make available to our audiences something of the highest quality they can keep as a lasting souvenir of the night," expressed Mark Knopfler.

"There’s a certain magic that happens during live musical performances – especially at a Mark Knopfler show - that has been hard to consistently capture due to the expense and hassle of deploying traditional recording technology," said Charlie Boswell, director of Digital Media and Entertainment at AMD. "AMD64 technology is changing the landscape of audio recording because it meets strict standards of top pros like Mark Knopfler. AMD-powered digital audio workstations are easily portable, readily available and affordable for musicians whether playing in garages or concert halls."

"We believe AMD, Mark Knopfler and Crowfly have a kindred spirit about delivering the highest possible quality live music content directly to the fans," said Eric Geadelman, principal founder of Crowfly.
