What It Does
------------
MP3 Quality Modifier makes it really easy to change the bitrate of
your mp3 music collection so that the filesize can be dramatically
reduced. With this advantage it's possible to put more music on your
mp3-player or just to save some disk space.
Even advanced tasks are possible: Downsampling, changing the used
channels and so on. With the included presets it's simpler than ever
before to manage all those settings.
Best of all is that - unlike other software - the ID3 tags (title,
album pictures etc.) will be completely retained without any effort!

Help, Explanation
-----------------
First of all go to the menu entry "?" -> "Get Started" because
anything essential will explained there.
If something is still unclear then keep in mind that every possible
setting has its own descriptive info text that appears if your hold
your cursor for a short while over it. Even more detailed infos are
available at the "?" -> "Program Help" menu.
"MP3 Infos" deals with basic knowledge about bitrates and so on.
More or less important notes about the settings itself are located at
"Program Help" which are separated into the windows they appear.

Command-Line Parameters
-----------------------
-Portable
All files that could be created (for example the settings) will be
saved in exactly the same directory of the executable.

-NoAutoSavePresets
Normally the presets will be saved on closing the program. Disable
this behaviour by using this command.

-NoAutoSaveProperties
By default the window properties (on top, position, size and column
sizes, column order etc.) will be saved at the exit of the program.
Use this command if you don't want to have the previous properties of
the program window on a restart.

-LicenseAgree
The license will be agreed automatically but this agreement won't be
remembered for the next start-up because no file for reminding will
be created.
The use of this parameter implies that you agree to the full license.

-NoWebsiteCheck
If a link is clicked the program will first check if the website is
available and - if necessary - visit an alternative link. An internet
connection is needed for this what may cause a firewall warning.
This command isn't recommended but will prevent that behaviour.

False-Positive Virus Alerts
---------------------------
If you get a security warning while using MP3 Quality Modifier then
don't be worried. Variations of the following messages could appear:

"unknown runtime packer"
MQM uses a well-known executable compressor named "UPX" that may
cause this warning.
"tries to create an executable"
At the start-up two files ("Encoder.exe" and "Validator.exe") were
temporarily extracted which are needed for the process.
"tries to connect to the internet"
When you clicked a link inside the program an internet connection is
needed. Take a look at the "-NoWebsiteCheck" command for more infos.

As you can see all alerts are explainable. Absolutely no harmful code
is included so the classification as a virus is a false alarm.
