Este fichero describe el camino a seguir para resolver problemas
eventuales que pueden aparecer en la puesta en marcha del mdem

1. Precauciones de instalacin
******************************************************************
Se recomienda desinstalar (si es necesario) los otros mdems ADSL
presentes en el ordenador antes de proceder a la instalacin 
de su mdem SAGEM F@st800.

2.  Reinstalacin de los drivers despus de una 
    instalacin incompleta
******************************************************************
Si la instalacin de los drivers de su mdem no ha sido correcta
o ha sido interrumpida voluntariamente, desinstale y reinstale 
el software desde el CD-ROM del mdem SAGEM F@st800. 
	
******************************************************************
 3.  El mdem no arranca
******************************************************************
Sntoma :   El LED PWR se queda encendido permanentemente.
	    El mdem no arranca correctamente.

Accin :
    - Desconecte y vuelva a conectar el cable USB entre el Pc 
      y el mdem.
o   - Reinicie el ordenador.

******************************************************************
 4.  Corte del enlace USB con comunicacin en curso (Win 98 y ME)
******************************************************************

Estado inicial : conexin a Internet en curso. 

Accin :
1- Se desconecta el cable USB : 
	-> un mensaje de peticin de reconexin aparece. 
2- Se reconecta el cable USB sin cerrar la ventana anterior : 
	-> un mensaje "El sistema telefnico ..." se 
superpone al primer mensaje. 

Problema :
   Si se valida el mensaje "El sistema telefnico ..."
antes del mensaje "Restablecimiento de la conexin" => Se vuelve 
imposible volver a conectar a Internet.
Es necesario reiniciar el Pc para desbloquear la situacin.
Este problema viene ligado con Windows 98/Millennium.

Para evitar que el problema se reproduzca:
- Cierre la ventana "Restablecimiento de la conexin..."  (botn 
ANULAR) antes de pulsar sobre el botn OK de la ventana
"El sistema telefnico ...."

 5.  Conexin del mdem ADSL cuando una WEBCAM USB est siendo 
     utilizada
******************************************************************
Descripcin del problema : 
El PC est encendido. Una WebCam USB est conectada al Pc y est
siendo utilizada.
Conecte el mdem ADSL en uno de los puertos USB de su ordenador.
El mdem no parece que arranque correctamente.
El LED "LINE" se queda apagado.

Accin:
Se trata de un problema de comparticin de ancho de banda USB
entre los diferentes perifricos conectados a su ordenador.
Para resolver el problema, es suficiente con invertir el orden de 
arranque de los perifricos USB:

- Cierre la aplicacin de gestin de la WebCam
- desconecte el cable USB de la WebCam 
- desconecte y reconectar el cable USB del mdem
- espere a que el LED "LINE" del mdem se encienda
- reconecte el cable USB de la WebCam
- ejecute la aplicacin de captura de vdeo de la WebCam

Si el problema persiste, 
- apague el ordenador
- verifique que todos los perifricos USB estn conectados al PC
- reinicie su ordenado

 6.  Utilizacin de un HUB USB
******************************************************************
En caso de utilizacin de un HUB USB, se recomienda conectar el
mdem directamente a uno de los puertos USB nativos del ordenador
y reservar el HUB para los perifricos que dispongan de
alimentacin externa.

1. Before installing the modem 
******************************************************************
It is recommended to uninstall other ADSL modems present on your
computer before starting the installation of your SAGEM F@st800 
modem.
	

******************************************************************
2. Reinstallation of the drivers after an incomplete installation 
******************************************************************
If the installation of the drivers failed or if the installation 
procedure was interrupted during the process, uninstall and then
install again the modem drivers using SAGEM installation CD-ROM.


******************************************************************
3. The modem doesn't start up 
******************************************************************
Symptom : 	The PWR indicator light remains OFF permanently. 
		The modem doesn't start correctly.

Action to take:	
     - Disconnect then reconnect the USB cable which connects 
       the computer to the modem.
  or - Restart the computer.


******************************************************************
4. Removal of USB cable while connected to Internet (Windows 98
   and Windows Millennium)
******************************************************************
Initial condition : connection to Internet established. 
Operation :
1- we unplug the USB cable from the modem : 
     -> a windows message appears to invite the user to reconnect. 
2- we replug the USB cable to the modem without closing the pre-
vious window : 
     -> the message "The Telephony subsystem..." is displayed over
the first message. 

Problem :
   If we close the window "The Telephony subsystem..." before the
message "Reestablish connection" => it becomes impossible to re-
establish a connection to Internet.
To solve the problem, we must restart the computer.
This problem is due to Windows 98/Millennium.

To avoid this problem :
- Close the message "Reestablish connection" before clicking on OK
in the window "The Telephony subsystem..."

5. Connection of the modem while a WebCam is already in use 
******************************************************************
Description of the problem : 
The computer is ON. A USB WebCam is connected to the PC and is 
active. Then you connect your ADSL modem to one of the USB ports
of your PC, but the modem doesn't seem to start-up correctly. 
The "LINE" light remains OFF.

Action to take:
This is a USB bandwidth issue. Resources are not correctly shared
between USB peripherals connected to your PC.To solve the problem,
we just have to change the order in which USB peripherals are 
activated as described below:
- close the WebCam software
- unplug the USB cable of your WebCam 
- unplug / replug the USB cable of your modem
- wait a few seconds until the "LINE" light remains ON
- replug the USB cable of your WebCam
- restart the WebCam software to capture video

If you still have the problem, 
- power down your PC 
- check that all USB peripherals are connected to the PC
- power up your PC

6. Using a USB HUB 
******************************************************************
If you are using a USB HUB, it is recommended that you connect the
modem directly to one of the USB ports of your computer and to 
connect other peripherals to the HUB.
